Valerie’s passion is teaching about and communicating an understanding and wonder for the natural world. The natural world literally comes to life in the minds and hearts of the children she works with.

Current Activities:

Valerie is a park interpreter in Isle Royale National Park in the middle of Lake Superior

Leadership Contributions: 1983 - ongoing

Valerie was one of the first AEC youth in the 1980s who participated in and then led programs, from the early day camps to Sunship Earth - the days of Sunship when there was not a staff training process such as we have today.
